I woud like to display a geotag icon under a photo, so that when its clicked a map is shown with a marker of where the picture is taken
I installed the photomaps component and the photomap plugin.
In the exif information of my photos the latitude and lintitude are displayed.
I have set the menu to category view. In the componentsetting i have set "show geotag-icon"to show.
I assume that i don't have to do the geotgagging for every photo but that they will be read from the exif-information ?
I use joomla 3.2.2. and the latest versions of phocagallery and phocamaps.
what am i doing wrong ?

Hi,
I installed the photomaps component and the photomap plugin.
You don't need Phoca Maps Component or Phoca Maps Plugin for Geotagging information in Phoca Gallery.
1.) Check, if your images really contains Geo Informations (Latitude & Longitude):
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Images --> (choose an image) --> Edit --> Image: [ Edit ] --> Geo Options -->
Latitude=(is there set any value like e.g. this)52.372924286759
Longitude=(is there set any value like e.g. this)4.5255983329661
2.) Go to: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Options --> General Settings --> Geotagging Settings -->
Display Geotagging Icon=Display
Save & Close
Kind regards,
Benno

Thank you for your quick reply
Latitude and longtitude are in the exif information are dipslayed like this
52° 6' 43.23
4° 16' 42.744
the geofields of the image are empty. Is that where it goes wrong.
Is there a conversion tool or something like that.

Hi,
Latitude and longtitude are in the exif information are dipslayed like this
52° 6' 43.23
4° 16' 42.744
The Geo Information inside Exif from the above example is:
52° 22' 22.527432333577"
4° 31' 32.153998678123"
So, I don't think this is the problem.
the geofields of the image are empty. Is that where it goes wrong.
If the fields are empty means, the 'exif info' was not read out during thumbnail creation.
Try to delete the thumbnails via FTP and create them once more.
Kind regards,
Benno
