Error in line 916

Using version 2.1.0 RC
I am running this website for some Buddhist monks, and they like to publish lots of pictures on their website. The Phoca extention is a perfect component for this. It have been working nice and smooth, but now suddenly there is this problem.

I noticed this first when i tryed to multi add pictures. I then got this error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9168 bytes) in .......com/administrator/components/com_phocagallery/helpers/phocagallery.php on line 916
Then when i tried to add a single picture, i get loged out right after the picture have reached 100%. And the picture is not uploaded when i log in to joomla again.

I then tried to go to the front end control panel to upload from there, but when i clicked on the link, nothing happened. it was just like clicking on the home button.

i know this topic is found elsewhere on the forum. i searched. But it cant be any problem with the GD library, since the component is working like a charm on other websites on the same webhost account.

is there a way to solve this without reinstalling joomla ?

Hi, check if you have enabled automatically thumbnail creation (maybe you have disabled it because of the error)

the error say, you don't have memory for doing thumbnails, so it can be only because of one big file, so it can work on other site ... so try to resize the file (image) on your pc and try it again...

Enable Thumbnails Creation: yes

I know that if i click on the "stop thumbnail creation" the automatic thumbnails will be disabled, so this is not the problem.

Also, i tried to add the same picture on the other website i have with phoca, on the same webserver account. And it worked just fine. Also the size of the pictures i want to add is all below 1,2mb. Are there any point to resize the picture to a smaller size than this ?

At the same time, i cant understand why i get loged out if i try to add a single picture. And the front-end CP is not working...

This is strange.

Found the problem to the front end control panel problem. For some strange reason, the Enable User Control Panel was set back to no. I just set it to yes. Then i tryed to upload image from the front end, and it worked :)

The back end problem is still giving me a headace, but as long as the front end upload is working, i should be happy.. right?
I tryed to see after some permission in the parameters, but nothing that would work. But what do you mean by the ftp layer settings. Where do i check this settings?

Is it possible to create more then one category from the front end ?

Suddenly the Front end upload stoped working...
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 12224 bytes) in ......com/administrator/components/com_phocagallery/helpers/phocagallery.php on line 916
Do you give support for people like me who are having problems with phoca ?
How much do you charge ?

I really would like to get this fixed. But don't know how....

Hi,

maybe this won't add to the information, but I have the same problem. I used Phoca Gallery 1.8.? on Joomla 1.5.1 without any problems for some months, adding and creating thumbnails of photos. All of a sudden I started getting the error mentioned above. After upgrading to first 2.0.2 stable and then 2.1.0 RC, I still have the same problem. The photos I've tried to create thumbnails of are below 1MB each.

Is there a manual way to create your own thumbnails and resized photos locally and then upload it to the server via FTP?

Thanks for your work!
Daniel
