I don't think it's possible, but in that case look at this as a feature request

What I would like is the possibility to show my subcategories for the category that I choose in Category Layout in the form like "show categories detail view" that I can only choose for the Category List Layout.

What I mean is: when I have a menu item "Category List Layout", it shows all the categories that I have. I don't want that.
So let's say I have more categories, like Concerts with subcategories for each band, and Animals with subcategories for cats and dogs and birds.

so i have:
concerts - band1
concerts - band2
concerts - band3
concerts - band4
animals - cats
animals - dogs
animals - birds

I want to create menu items that link to Concerts, showing all the bands in "show categories detail view" layout and a link to Animals that shows all the subcategories in "show categories detail view" layout.
The only way to get that layout as far as I can see is to choose menu setting "Category List Layout", and that shows all the concerts and animals in one screen, and I don't want that.

Is this possible? Or will it be?
