Hi there

I have a problem on a new site using joomla 1.6 and phoca gallery. Previously (in joomla 1.5) I would create the folder structure and upload images using the joomla media manager - then let phoca gallery know, using multiple add, check all boxes and click safe. This worked very well and phoca only updated the new additions.

However, using this same method in joomla 1.6 creates a problem. Whenever I use multiple add, check all boxes (or just one) and click safe - phoca gallery creates a new image, category or whatever is in the folder, even though the item (image, category or ...) already exist. And at the same time giving them a different id. This mean I end up having a bunch of similar categories and images (duplicates), but with different id's.

Am I missing something and doing it wrong, or do I need to change something in global settings?

Any timeframe on when this issue will be fixed? I'm using Joomla 2.5.1 and Gallery 3.1.4. Everything duplicates using Multi-Add.

I've been following the discussion here but I"m having this exact problem. I'm using 3.15 w/Joomla 2.5.3. I tried doing the multiple add and uploading straight into the folder but I keep coming up w/duplicates. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem with a clients website, using Phocagallery 3.2.1 and Joomla 2.5.6.

All the images have the same file names.

I've also got the same problem using Phoca Gallery 3.2.1 and Joomla 2.5.6. Recreating thumbnails for newly added images duplicates categories, giving all images and categories based on folder names new IDs. No new thumbnails are actually created, only new IDs. I cannot delete the extra categories without deleting the reference to the new image IDs. I'm currently needing to delete over 400 images that were duplicated when adding just 2 images.

I've also got the old creating default object from empty value problem:

Warning: Creating default object from empty value in [...]\administrator\components\com_phocagallery\libraries\phocagallery\image\imagefront.php on line 433

when Display Empty Categories is set to Yes.

Hi, thumbnail can be used for more images (items in database), in case they are using one the same image.

Testing now the parameter: Empty categories (Yes) without any such error Will do more tests.
