Multiple Adds without inputting file name to retain filename

Hello!

I am using Phoca Gallery for the first time for several clients. Thank you for a wonderful tool!

I would like to be able to add images to categories via Multiple Add and use the file names as created for the images. To test this, I have used the Multiple Add feature via the Control Panel and Images areas to see how they function.

When I upload multiple images and DO NOT add a title in the Title line...the images upload into the selected category with their original file name intact, however, they do so with a subcategory having been created as well. I noticed that, if I ADD a title, it applies it to every image and overwrites the original file name and keeps all of the images at the Category level with no Subcategory.

Is there a way to add multiple images to a category and retain the original file names WITHOUT having a subcategory be automatically created?

Hi, if there is no title, when you add images with Multiple Add feature, the title will created from the filename

Thank you Jan. I understand that and have tested that option. What happens when I do this is that a subcategory is created.

Thank you for your reply Jan. I figured out the process that needs to occur in this instance.

If I Create a Category and save it without selecting a folder, then upload images by selecting the images directly and NOT the folder with the desired images, the images upload without creating a subfolder. Otherwise, if I select the folder to load the images, a subfolder is created.

Took a while to figure out - glad I did and hope this is of use to others!
