Any way to update from 2.7.4 to 3.2.3

Hello!

I'm trying to pass an old joomla 1.5 site to 2.5. So far I was able to migrate all the contents and plugins, but I can't figure out how to update the phocagallery.

I try several different ways. Installed a new one and hope it recall the categories and images from the image folder, try to delete the new tables and replaced with the old ones then reinstall as an update (this work in the front but I can't manage the categories or images in the backend).

Is there a correct way to do this?
