Possible to show subcategories as a list?

I think I'm making this harder than it should be; is it possible to show subcategories as a list instead of as a layout view?

I'm converting my family photo website over to Phoca Gallery and my photos are organized by the year. I've made a category for each year needed (2009, 2008, 2007, etc) that contain subcategories (and sub-subcategories) under the appropriate years.

On my home page I have the menu links: 2009 Gallery, 2008 Gallery, 2007 Gallery, etc. and I would like for each of these links to link directly to it's respective year Category and it show a list of subcategories and not a layout of them.

Hi, Phoca Gallery 2.6.0 is a development version, you should use stable version.

You can make different view with different parameters (display subcategories, display categories over images in category view, etc.)

Hi, thanks. I've looked through the parameters and don't see a setting for showing the subcategories as a list. If for example I need to link directly to the "parent" category 2008 is it not possible to just choose the 2008 category have all the subcategories underneath that show as a list?

What I'm doing now is I've created three links (2009 Gallery, 2008 Gallery, 2007 Gallery) with the Menu Type "Phoca Gallery Category List Layout" and I then hide all the categories that don't pertain to that year. This mostly works but a main problem with this (besides having to add all the categories I want hidden) is the breadcrumbs and back buttons don't work correctly. When the back button to the parent category is clicked on it goes to the parent category in layout view.

If I use the Menu Type "Phoca Gallery Category Layout" it works just how I need it because I can choose the appropriate "parent" year category, the breadcrumbs work correctly, etc, but it's in the layout view. If I display the categories over the images in category view that would work for me if I could remove the categories layout that are below the list.
