Solved - Black thumbs, black images

Post by chrisklinger »

Phocagallery was working perfectly.

I installed Phocadownload, but was having difficulty, so unistalled phocadownload.

Now, phocagallery pages present only black images of any new categories/images created. Prior images present correctly.

Manual download of images from /thumbs shows that thumbnails were indeed created correctly.

Files in /thumbs are 666, thumbs directory is 777

I have found no one else with this same problem.

Any ideas _greatly_ appreciated!

Thank you,

Chris

Hello Jan!
Thank you for your help.

Perhaps the error occurring after install/unistall of Phocadownload is mere coincidece.

I cannot understand why newly created categories would be all black, while previously created ones are OK. The thumbnail images are all properly created.

If you would like to see an example of this issue, please access my site: studiosoaqui.com.br

Login as username chk password is one-two-three-four-five-six (digits only)
From there, studiosoaqui.com.br/index.php?option=com_phocagallery&view=categories&Itemid=114
("Minha Sessão no Studio" menu link)

I sincerely appreciate any help you may offer, especially as I can imagine how busy you are.
If you would like, I would gladly create an admin account on the backend for you to take a look.

Best regards,
Chris

I don't see any black images there, I see standard images with black box around them, this is because of installed black theme ?

Jan, 1st I must thank you for your patience and good will.

On the page I indicated, there are 4 categories; 2 are older, and working. The ones named "test" are the newly created ones that show only black. Categories 11933 and 12102 are older, and are working correctly.

I tried from 2 different machines, and get the same black images.

Did the "test" categories show you images?

Thank you!!

Hi, now I see it, they are not black, it is only the background which is black. The images is missed there (you can see it in e.g. Google Chrome)

Try to test if the image is there (in this folder)
http://studiosoaqui.com.br/images/phoca ... _selma.jpg

because the site cannot find it
Maybe there will be some problem with url, maybe try to test the url and folder names.
Maybe the thumbnails cannot be read because of permissions or ownership problems.

Thank you Jan!

It was indeed a problem with permissions. Oddly, my Filezilla is for some reason unable to accurately set permissions; resetting via SSH resolved my issue.

Thanks again,

Chris
