Hi... I have tried a lot of things to get this to work before creating my own topic...
2.5.3
When I upload images (a process that occurs without problem) and try to save them to a folder (category) I am just led straight to the white screen with "Stop Thumbnails Creation" in the corner. I have tried leaving it for an extended period (thinking perhaps it was just a slow process) with no results. When I click 'stop thumbnails creation' It doesn't even navigate away from that page. When I go to the category it tells me how many images there are in the folder, but just white thumbnails. When I try to open images, white images also. I have returned default settings to enable thumbnails.
Is it a permissions issue? I played around with the thumbs folder without luck...... please help I am at my wits end
Mitch

Re: Issues with Thumbnails - Image uploading
Further to the above... I can right click and save the image to my PC... it opens up fine, all there!

Hi, did you get some error message. if not, try to see error log on your server so you can see the error (if blank page was displayed and error reporting is off) or try to enable debug mode in global configuration of Joomla!

I have the same thing happening, in the debug it highlighted com-media so I temporarily changed permissions for this folder. Now the "Stop Thumbnails Creation" doesn't hang in the corner, it quickly says 'thumbnail created', but there is no thumbnail
I think this is a permissions thing though - I have never had these issues with phocagallery before - something about my host's setup is killing it in every way possible for me
Apache owns everything despite having the FTP enabled. And I am so scared to delete any phocagallery files in case it crashes again...

Re: Issues with Thumbnails - Image uploading
Hi!
I see a lot of threads regarding this issue, so instead of starting a new one I'll fill in a comment in this one...
I've tried another type of gallery and in fact, it's the same issue there. Maybe something has happened with the core Joomla! application. It doesn't seem to make the thumbnails readable (and it doesn't help if you have CHMOD777 for the folder itself), which is really annoying (and YES, I've enabled the thumbnail creation). I get CHMOD600 instead of 644 all the time. Sure, I can manually change to 644 and the thumbs are visible but this is no good for my registered users!
