Upgraded com from v2.2.0 to v2.2.4

Post by Frost »

Well, I just was in the information section of the albums and I thought I would check for an update. Sure enough there was one. So I dowloaded the latest verions of the Phoca Gallery Component and installed it. I got a 500 error on my server, and then I could no longer access the component. I tried to uninstall the component that I seen and it gave me some db errors on the uninstall. Now I have no gallerys at all and i can't install the old version either.

Help please!
thanks

Oh no!! Now my site is completely offline as well because of the phoca errors generated. I'm in full blown panic mode now. I'd even remove the component and the plugin to get my site back up if necessary. I used the uninstall but there is still files on my server as well as sql tables in my database. I don't know what to remove or how to do it and my site is completely messed up as a result.

I've uninstalled the component but I don't think it's completely gone. I also tried to uninstall the gallery pluggin and slideshow pluggin and when I did I got this error: JFTP::delete: Bad response

Why oh why did I update!? I need some serious help on this and fast.

Hi,

for next time: before you do any major changes backup first and test on a (local) test server.

To solve the problems now:

Remove all files related to phocagallery. See upgrade via FTP: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ca-gallery

The database tables for phocagallery are all called jos_phocagallery...

From those instructions:

"Then you can choose between install or upgrade Phoca Gallery component. Select upgrade. If you select install, all old data will be removed."

I never received that option when I ran the install of the component.

Hi,

then it didn't succeed. It's probably because of the size of the component.

If you still want to upgrade, proceed according to the 'upgrade via ftp' method. Don't forget to run some sql-queries, because in 2.2.0 some fields are added to the tables.

I'm just going to start from scratch. I've uninstalled all the components and pluggins. I've deleted all the tables in the db, so i'm going to just run a fresh install.

Do I just need to install 2.2.4 and that's it?

Install 2.2.4, and if you want to use the slideshow and gallery plugin, you need to install those too.

Then add the images etc, and you might have to resave your phoca gallery menu items.

The install fails. I contacted my host provider and this is the response they gave me:

"Dear Customer,

You have a problem exactly in the structure of joomla's work, it doesn't catch local php.ini during the work with its constituents, please contact the developers concerning resolving of this issue."

I have no idea what that means, all I know is that 2.2.4 doesn't work.

I've used Joomla (1.5.7 through 1.5.10) on a host (GoDaddy) that needed local php.ini files. I never had a problem - so I would guess that it is not a problem with Joomla. AAUI, whether or no a local php.ini file is used depends on the configuration of the web server.

I have a php.ini file off the root of the install, is there anywhere else it should be?

Upon closer look, there is a php.ini file in every folder in my domain. The other joomla site that I have with the gallery installed on, doesn't have all those php.ini files. Could this be the problem?
