Category Columns

Post by SysTeam_erik »

Hello,

I have made a category on the website (http://www.indoorskicentrumzwolle.nl/in ... &Itemid=20)

but this is only in one column. is it possible to set this in multiple columns, if yes, how can i do this. if not, is there an alternative gallery extension were it is possible with?

further the extension is great. so many options to configure within this extension.

Greetings Erik.

Hi,

it's designed to have more columns (automatically). Check out the 'phoca gallery width' setting in menu >> your menu >> fotos >> component parameters. This setting defines the width of the box. Test with a standard template (rhuk_milkyway) if it's also 1 column. Check out if there is no high number entered in 'margin box' and 'padding box' in the component parameters.

Hello Carolien,

the standard margin and padding parameters are 5 and 5. i've used the Ruhk-milkyway template. just altered the images used by the template so it fits within the style of the company.

i've already tried some other templates.

Try to set phoca gallery width parameter e.g. to 400px in Parameters component...

Hi Jan,

I've Tried this but it wont help.

i'm also expiriencing another problem.

when the GD lybrary creates the thumbnails. the rights are automatically setup to deny reading from the group Everyone (these are the rights that the thumbnails get "770") is this a known issue or is this a setting on the server of the hosting company?

Hi Erik,

it's important that the thumbs folder (in images/phocagallery/[your folder] is open for writing (for everyone), because Phoca Gallery puts there the created thumbs.

i''ve set the rights in the administrator/components/com_phocagallery to 777 and now the problem with the collumns is over.

but when the thumbnails are created. they have standard an 770 rights on the pictures. is this standard? or is this a setting in the GD library?

it's not so fine when the thumbs are created that i have to set the rights right on the thumbs.

kind regards, erik

Hi,

mine are 644 - which is a recommended setting for files. You need to be able to read the file (otherwise it won't be displayed). Where and how these rights are setted, I don't know.

Carolien
